Scottsdale is a shoppers dream, with upscale
designer merchandise to farmers market bargains.
However the area is known as Americas largest
art colony and gallery shopping is a big attraction
in Scottsdale. This is the place to find the unique
gift for someone special or the perfect art piece
for ones home. Another unique staple in the Scottsdale
shopping scene is Native-American art and handmade
items along with western gear and cowboy art. So
whatever one is looking for, shopping in Scottsdale
is certainly an event to enjoy and remember.
Renown for the hundreds of art galleries, and unique
antique, jewelry and apparel shops, downtown Scottsdale
also has a number of clubs and restaurants. The
arts play a large part in Scottsdales shopping
experience, the city is home to one of the largest
art colonies in America and celebrates this designation
with permanent art installations located throughout
the downtown and Civic Center Mall. From November
through May, a free trolley service is offered that
shuttles visitors around the downtown. A large number
of popular dining and entertainment establishments
are dotted throughout this distinctive area. Thursday
evenings year round, downtown Scottsdale is host
to Artwalk, an event where more than 100 galleries
open their doors from 7 to 9 pm, with some venues
offering demonstrations, show openings or entertainment.
An added feature on Saturday mornings from October
through July is the Market in the Village, a farmers
market featuring Arizona organically grown produce.
There is always something going on in Scottsdales

Over 100 galleries are open every Thursday evening
from 7 to 9 pm. This weekly event is hosted year-round
by the Scottsdale Gallery Association. Three times
a year the Artwalk is expanded into a weekend fest
event, January - Fiesta Bowl Artwalk, July -Summer
Spectacular Artwalk and October -Western Artwalk
Weekend.

Historic Old Town
